The History

In 2011, leading regional developer J.B. Reilly cofounded City Center Investment Corporation (CCIC) with business partner Joseph Topper, Jr. Since then, CCIC has overseen the planning, design, financing, construction, marketing, leasing, and management of more than 1.4 million square feet of new development, with plans in motion for much more.

July 2011

CCIC is formed and announces plans for major mixed-use development in Downtown Allentown.

February 2014

Fortune magazine editors and City Center Allentown hold a panel discussion in Downtown Allentown on urban revitalization in America.

March 2014

City Center Allentown opens Two City Center, a 300,000 sq. ft. Class A office and retail tower delivered in 18 months. Tenants include Fortune 500 company Air Products, BB&T, and CrossAmerica Partners.

City Center Allentown opens One City Center, a 187,000 sq. ft. Class A office and retail tower delivered in 6 months (interior fit-out). Tenants include Lehigh Valley Health Network, the region’s largest employer, and Tim Hortons.

City Center Allentown opens Velocity, a 16,000 sq. ft. business incubator and accelerator.


September 2014

City Center Allentown helps launch the Downtown Allentown Community Development Initiative to improve education, healthcare, and safety in area neighborhoods.

City Center Allentown forms a multifaceted partnership with area colleges and universities.

January 2015

City Center Allentown opens the Marriott Renaissance Allentown Hotel, a 170-room full-service luxury hotel with a ballroom, meeting space, and upscale restaurant, delivered in 9 months (interior fit-out).

April 2015

City Center Allentown launches The Shops at City Center, which now consists of more than 20 upscale shops and restaurants, including Starbucks and Queen City BBQ.

May 2015

City Center Allentown opens Three City Center, a 166,000 sq. ft. Class A office and retail tower delivered in 12 months. Tenants include Morgan Stanley and Norris McLaughlin & Marcus, the region’s largest business law firm.

City Center Allentown helps launch Live Near Your Work, a housing incentive program for downtown professionals.

City Center Allentown opens ArtsWalk, a pedestrian walkway lined with shops and restaurants that connects Downtown Allentown's arts institutions.

City Center Allentown opens STRATA Flats,  a 170-unit luxury residential complex delivered in 15 months.

City Center Allentown welcomes two restaurants to renovated spaces, part of our effort to adapt and reuse several historic downtown properties.

November 2015

City Center Allentown announces plans for STRATA East, a 67-unit expansion of our STRATA residential complex with additional retail space.

November 2016

Construction begins on Tower 6, a 180-foot-tall structure that will be our most state-of-the-art tower to date.

Construction begins on STRATA Symphony, a 71-unit luxury apartment building on the ArtsWalk with 2 levels of parking in partnership with the Allentown Parking Authority.
